About Vin

Vin Maskell is a widely-published professional writer based in Melbourne, Australia.

His more recent freelance work has appeared in The Big Issue, Eureka Street, and  the Footy Almanac.

My Brother’s Jumper, first published in The Big Issue, was part of the 2008 edition of Best Australian Essays.

Jacaranda Avenue, a short collection of non-fiction family narratives which were mainly published in The Age, was published in 2003.

In 1999 Vin and and his good friend Gina Perry wrote the text book Write to Publish (Allen & Unwin).

Since 2011 Vin has been writing weekly about scoreboards at his site Scoreboard Pressure. 

In June 2012 he began his weekly /12 month swimming blog 365 Swims and in January 2013 be began the music site Stereo Stories.

Vin has also written news, newsletters and magazine stories for Victoria University, Victoria Legal Aid, Environment Victoria and Independent Schools Victoria.
