October has been a big month for Stereo Stories, the project I started with my good friend Dave Linden just under twelve months ago. The Stephen Andrew story about Rocktober 1975 generated plenty of hits and memories and the John Weldon story about the Kiss song Take Me (from his novel Spincycle) marked our 50th story about our 50th song.

Along the way we have featured stories by 22 writers, who have taken us to places near and far, to songs old and new, to stories about parenthood, parties, heartbreak, temptation, sunburn, grief, bushfires, breakdowns, and heroes. All the stories reflect a love of music – pop, country, punk, jazz and more –  and a passion for narrative.

Coming up will be stories about the charms of an accordion orchestra playing the theme to Phantom Of The Opera, about Oscar Petersen’s  Hymn to Freedom, Jackson Browne’s The Pretender and Yoko Ono’s Hard Times Are Over.

Dave and I are always on the lookout for contributors. Our contact details are on the site.
